| Glutathione is an amino acid
found naturally in our bodies. It is involved in detoxification and acts as an anti-oxidant. Glutathione supplementation is recommended along with other micronutrients to help repair the immune system after the chronic toxic load of infections, environmental poisons, medications, and stress. Glutathione helps decrease inflammation, free radical damage, decreases muscle fatigue, and is involved in liver detoxification, and immune function. People with Lyme disease, chronic fatigue, neurological illness, liver disease, and with heavy metal poisoning may benefit from IV glutathione injections, as well as people with “garden variety” stress and fatigue. |
These conditions deplete our normal glutathione production and cause build up of toxins. Patients report having more energy, improved immune function and less “brain fog” after receiving glutathione. Glutathione must be given as an intravenous preparation as it is degraded rapidly when taken orally. It is safe and generally no side effects have been reported except for discomfort at the injection site. Injections may be given weekly, twice weekly, or daily. Injections are given over a 5 minute time period. |
